Don't fall victim in your own home!
The last place you should fall victim to a high pressure sales scam is in your own home. It's your house. You are in control. Right?? Not necessarily. Remember you can't just walk away when feeling pressured. It's your home. Where are you going to go?? The salesperson is in your house!! You can ask them to leave, if they don't or won't, call 911.
What Can I Do?
Make it a rule to never let an unsolicited salesperson into your home. If you did not invite them, don't allow them in! In the event you do allow them in, remember, it is unlawful for any home solicitor to conduct a sale of $25 or more unless they have obtained a sales permit from the Clerk of the Circuit Court. If a home solicitor can't show you this permit, then show them the door or call your local Law Enforcement Agency.
If I decide to buy the product.

All home solicitation sales must be evidenced by a written agreement. This agreement must contain the date of the transaction and the buyers signature. Don't sign any agreement that is not completely filled out and you have read and understand it. This written agreement must also contain the "BUYER'S RIGHT TO CANCEL." If you feel you were pressured to buy, and you are now having second thoughts about it, this important right gives you three days to cancel the sale and receive all your money back. You must inform the business of the cancellation in writing. The safest way is to send it certified mail so you have evidence as to when it was postmarked. You will have to safeguard and secure any product and return it when the make arrangements to pick it up from your home. Remember you don't have to buy today, regardless of what they say you can get the same deal tomorrow and if it sounds to good to be true it probably is!
