THE FLORIDA ATTORNEY GENERAL
SENIORS vs CRIME PROJECT HISTORY
In 1989, some of Florida's most effective crime fighters were unleashed through the creation of the Attorney General's Seniors vs Crime Project. This effective unit has allowed seniors to become involved not only in their own protection, but also that of their fellow citizens.
Seniors vs Crime is well known throughout the state. Volunteers serve as the Attorney General's eyes and ears and actively assist in consumer protection investigations. Statewide, these crime fighters have been responsible for recovering more than $5 million for seniors who were victims of con artists. Unethical businesses and individuals may believe that their senior target is helpless when, in fact, these citizens may be working for the Attorney General. Please give the Seniors vs Crime project a chance to help you with a consumer related complaint by calling 863-413-3000 for the Lakeland Office or 863-424-8475 for the Davenport Office.

On Friday March 5, 2004 our then Attorney General Charlie Crist joined Polk County Sheriff Lawrence W. Crow in opening Polks office of the Seniors vs Crime Project.
We have enjoyed much success since then. Our office has been instrumental in returning over $300,000 to senior victims since that day in 2004.
We have learned a lot since that time, thanks to the guidance and help of our Sheriff , Grady Judd.
Just in the year of 2007, we in our office were able to return over $250,000 to senior victims.
Our growth continues in 2008 with the addition of an office in Davenport. The addition of this new office was made possible with the support of the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
